Mission Statement: Utah Tap Foundation is established to preserve the historic art form that has been passed down throughout the generations and throughout the world. Utah Tap Foundation is committed to teaching and promoting the diverse cultural history that is tap dance.  We will accomplish by holding workshops in the community, bringing in artists to expose the Utah community to diverse styles of tap dance, teaching all ages the history of the art form, and creating a place of education and community.

 

Goals:

 

1. Create workshops and performances that promote the education and technique of tap dance to people of all genders, ages, income, ethnicities, and orientations.

2. Create community and a place to develop friendships

3. Create a place to celebrate the history of tap dance, honor the original founders of tap dance, and learn from current and upcoming artists from around the world

4. Celebrate culture and diversity.

5. Promote healing and understanding through dance.

6. Build opportunities for self-esteem, personal growth, and self-empowerment through the arts.

   7. Provide equal opportunities and access by providing educational experiences.
